Cleaning and Care
While staining and soiling exposures are common to upholstery fabrics, most stain and soiling may be removed by using the simple cleaning methods that follow.
Essential Maintenance Guidelines
One of the best ways to keep UltraLeather surfaces looking great is to properly maintain them by cleaning regularly to prevent excessive dirt from accumulating. Following these guidelines will help to extend the life of the fabric:
- Clean regularly with soap and water
- Wipe up spills as soon as they occur
- Alcohol based cleaners such as Fantastik® and Formula 409® can be used to clean and remove stains
- Sanitize using disinfectants such as 1:5 bleach/water solution
- For stubborn stains, wipe with isopropyl (rubbing alcohol) as soon as possible
- Thoroughly rinse all solution residue with clean water
- Air dry completely
High UV Maintenance Instructions
- All Ultrafabrics High UV products should be stored in a dry, well ventilated area
- Ultrafabrics mildew resistant surfaces do not promote mildew growth, however, mildew may grow on dirt and other foreign substances that are not removed from the fabric
- The frequency of cleaning will vary greatly depending upon the local outdoor environment in which the product is used
- Cushions should not remain wet or be covered, as this will increase the chances of mildew growth occurring
Optimal Performance Guidelines
All of our High UV products perform best when:
1. Paired with an open cell, reticulated, quick drying foam and/or a waterproof, anti-mildew barrier between the fabric and foam
2. Utilizing air vents and/or a mesh, open weave fabric bottom
